WHERE WE MEET

A Little Bit About Where We Meet

Join us in Solihull in our bright and welcoming venue

At Sans Souci Speakers Club (Solihull), we believe that the learning environment is just as important as what you learn. People relax and perform to their best in a warm, friendly and supportive atmosphere.

And that’s why we meet at The Solihull Methodist Church Community Hall, in the centre of Solihull, in a room which is well lit and spacious.  After a hard day at work….. or even an easy day at work, what could be better?

There is plenty of free car parking in a well lit area. No car? No problem! There is a railway station and a bus terminus right next door.

We are a non-commercial non-profit organisation with most of the membership fees covering the cost of room hire, but we think that it’s well worth it.

Venue address: Solihull Methodist Church & Community Hall, Blossomfield Road, Solihull B91 1LG

DATES FOR YOUR DIARY

Our Meeting Dates for Your Diary

More info on a Speakers Club evening

Why not come along and join us for a fun and rewarding evening that will help you build confidence and really help reduce those nerves when speaking in front of other people?

You will see prepared speeches, impromptu speaking and constructive feedback. If you’d like to actively take part in the evening you’re welcome to, however if you prefer to sit and watch for your first few sessions then that is perfectly fine.

Sometimes we have special meetings – examples are evenings based on debating, games or using visual aids; there are annual competitions for prepared speeches, evaluations and topics (impromptu speaking). There are also team competitions when Sans Souci takes on local speakers clubs from around the West Midlands.

By taking part, as well as watching more experienced club members, you’ll learn how to do all of the above and get lots and lots of practice.

Make a note of the dates below, pop them in you diary today.

PUBLIC SPEAKING TIPS!

Public Speaking Tip!

Create pictures in the mind of the audience using similes and metaphors.

“ Somewhere between the little town of reality in which we live and the great city of our dreams, is a little hamlet called compromise. Unfortunately, that is where many of us spend the rest of our lives.

Cavett Robert
